it began in the hallway of the twins school
the pastors wife approached me, we hardly knew each other,
yet, she knew our families desire
she told me to begin praying, that the abortion had been cancelled
i wept and prayed and cried out to God
then she told me it was a boy, just what we wanted
the girl was young and scared
the boyfriend abusive and removed
girl thought she wanted a "white" family
she was shown our family picture but didn't understand how we would LOVE another child
i stayed up late talking with private adoption worker
i thought this could be it
pastors wife and i prayed together and cried again together
i got the call when he was born
but
it was not what God wanted for our family
i still pray for scared girl and baby boy
i think about how old he is
i am waiting for God's will

this was there last day of FIRST grade

in two weeks we begin SECOND grade! i can hardly believe it!
someone shake me

resting, waiting, remembering

REMEMBERING that God's timing is PERFECT
and RESTING in that, and that ALONE

another olympics

they are family to us, all of them
we ate out every meal
swam till we shriveled
reconnected
cheered
won some, lost some
browsed fashion island
enjoyed the beautiful weather
held cute babies
soaked up every moment
my baby learned how to swim!

overnight date

just him and me
downtown
dinner
les miserables
it was perfect
as soon as the music began
i chocked up
remembering childhood
like it was yesterday
my mom used to blast the soundtrack
thank you mom for teaching me to appreciate music
and the arts

it began with 7 moms
17 kids (more on the way)
and a trip to the museum

and ended with a walk to dinner (yes, we might be a little crazy)

topped off with Ghiradelli drinks!
